Associated Partnership of Alliance4Life and EATRIS

20 July 2020

Based on their joint interest in translational research in Life Sciences and Medicine, Alliance4Life and EATRIS – European infastructure for translational medicine, held a virtual meeting that was attended by representatives of the management and Core Facilities Focus Group from all Alliance4Life member institutions.

During the global pandemic of COVID-19, we have seen the importance of a joint effort in tackling the current, and very likely future challenges of the health-related sector, as well as the importance of relying on existing European life science research infrastructures, such as EATRIS. Therefore, the Board appreciates EATRIS’ support of Alliance4Life´s ambition of empowering low-performing Member States in the Central and Eastern European region regarding their scientific excellence and innovation upscaling. The agreed collaboration will support, among other aspects, international collaboration between researchers and industry, management and open access to core facilities, mapping and linking existing facilities, and education and training

EATRIS offers several training activities that contribute to building a better capacity for translation in Europe, including, among others: TMex – a 5-day digital course in October for PhDs and Postdocs; as well as e-learning, webinars, and face-to-face courses to train the next generation of ATMP developers (ADVANCE project).
