When it comes to building capacities for being an excellent researcher, manager or co-worker of any kind, one must not forget to work on the foundation that either excels or hinders our success – underlying softs skills. By being aware of what is happening within us when we are at the edge of stress, we are facing creative block or we deal with unresolvable tension with our co-workers, superiors or important others, and by choosing efficient tools and techniques, we can empower ourselves and people around us and move forward to reach the goals we desire. Are you willing to look what else is possible, what powers lie inside of you, and which techniques can boost your creativity, mental strength and improve your relationship with people around you?

Teamwork and achieving team synergy
Steve Jobs said, “Great things in business are never done by one person; they're done by a team of people.”, and the same goes also in research. Do you know how to recognize different profiles/skills of team members, distribute tasks according to team members’ profiles, identify key elements of project management, achieve synergy and create outstanding results with your team? Associate Professor Tea Vukušić Rukavina from University of Zagreb, School of Medicine (Croatia) is a specialist in psychiatry, with a strong focus on the promotion of mental health, mental health policy, communication in health care and science and health management, and will help us to explore how we can recognize, motivate and empower our co-workers and create the most of our teamwork.

Bringing science and research results to different audiences, including general public, fund providers or superiors, can be frustrating, however by knowing how to structure and adjust the presentation according to the performance purpose and by mastering the techniques of presenting visual data and enabling good communication flow, public speaking can become much more manageable and pleasant experience. Workshop will be orchestrated by Karolina H. Czarnecka-Chrebelska, Assistant Professor in Medical University of Lodz (Poland), and Justyna Kiszałkiewicz, Assistant Professor in Medical University of Lodz (Poland), with both of them being experienced molecular biologists with vast knowledge on conducting scientific and pitch presentations workshops, design-thinking, and boosting creativity training.
