Workshop Highlights

At Alliance4Life, we recognize the vital role of structured mentoring in improving doctoral student retention and success. To address this, Dr. Med. Filip Sedlič from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, together with the WP4 team, are developing a tailored mentorship model for biomedical institutions across Central and Eastern Europe.

This interactive workshop will shape the mentorship model collaboratively, with expert contributions from ORPHEUS representatives, including:

  • Bob Harris (TBU)
  • Janet Carton will discuss the international perspective on professional development for research supervisors, importance / value, typical approaches, content for CPD programmes and activities, impact of changes in research assessment on supervision and progression / promotion.
  • John Creemers will use Poll Everywhere to determine the perspectives of the group on initial questions he will pose and will go on to discuss the European context, Open Science and AI.

Additionally, participants will gain insights into upcoming online workshops, secondment opportunities, and co-mentoring initiatives for their institutions.

Participation and Registration

Each institution is invited via email to nominate two leaders from their doctoral education programs to attend this workshop. A dedicated budget covers the costs for two participants per institution.
